William Merz, Vice President, Commercial Lender

William Merz

William Merz, who brings ten-years of experience to his position, started his banking career as a Management Development Associate with Commerce Bank in 2001 before working in various positions in both retail banking and commercial lending. Joining the Westchester Bank in 2008, Bill manages a loan portfolio in excess of $200 Million comprised of commercial, industrial, service, not-for-profit, and real estate enterprises. In 2016, this Lender closed 50-transactions for over $50 Million in new loan commitments. He was promoted to Vice-President in 2011. He is active with The Westchester County Association, The Business Council of Westchester, The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the County of Westchester, and serves on the Board for Community Capital Resources, a local community development financial institution. In 2010, Bill was named one of Westchester County’s 40 Rising Stars under the Age of 40. In 2011, he was featured as an “Excellent Lender in Community Banking” by Independent Banker, a trade magazine published by the Independent Community Bankers’ Association.
