Carl E. Petrillo began working as an assistant superintendent for Yonkers Contracting Company 30 years ago where he quickly rose to become the firm’s President and Chief Executive Officer. During his 20-year tenure, Mr. Petrillo’s vision has guided the family-owned firm to one of the most well-respected businesses in the construction field. Building on the success of his father, Edward J. Petrillo, Mr. Petrillo transformed Yonkers Contracting Company from the large earthmoving firm of the 1940s and 1950s into a leader in almost all areas of the heavy construction industry. The company has successfully completed many diverse projects including bridge and highway construction, treatment plants, airports, dams and landfills. In the last 25 years Mr. Petrillo began broadening the company’s base to include asphalt plants, quarries, building construction, condominiums, shopping centers, soil remediation and now operates the largest winery in Pennsylvania. Under Mr. Petrillo’s leadership, Yonkers Contracting has expanded its business to include a portfolio in excess of $1 billion.Go Back
